How long will it take to ship my car cross country regionally or locally?
If you’re wondering how long it takes to ship a car cross country or regionally, you’re in the right place. Transport time on the truck is contingent on several factors. For example, our car shipping delivery time estimates depend on how far the transporter is travelling and how heavily congested the area is. As a rule of thumb, we get any vehicle that is near a major city picked up in a day or two. Vehicles that are “off the beaten path” generally take a day or two longer to get picked up.

A few things to keep in mind regarding our car shipping delivery estimates.
Drivers will usually take time off during holiday weekends. This could add a day or two to the transit time.
Vehicles being shipped cross country take longer than it would take if you were driving the vehicle. In most cases, your vehicle is going to be transported on a 7-10 trailer. In other words, that the driver has to go to many other locations to pickup other vehicles before they are able to head to the delivery locations. Drivers can only legally travel so many hours per day and that includes the time involved in picking up and delivering other vehicles. The pickups and deliveries are what usually take the majority of the transit time, though we work with only the best carriers.

We instruct the drivers to call the day before delivery to give you a general estimate of their delivery time. Once they are close to your location, they will usually call again with a clearer picture of their exact delivery time. Of course, this is not an exact science. Traffic and delays while delivering other vehicles can slow them down. However, if a driver is behind schedule and you haven’t heard from them, give us a call and we will find out what the issue is and keep you informed.
